Amber Hoak is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft Research in the Special Projects group. Her work is centered around data analysis and visualization, evaluations of large language models, and machine learning engineering methodologies. She works on real-world performance-based model evaluations and engineering optimized workflows to support foundational models. Along with independent research, she collaborates with different product teams, enhancing data representation tools and delivering key metrics to enhance AI-user interaction. Her efforts are aimed at driving the next generation of research breakthroughs and deepening scientific insights for Microsoft customers.
Amber holds a M.S from University of Denver in Software Development and Design and a B.A from University of Washington in Mathematics.
