Dr. Angélica Moreira, a Research Software Engineer II at Microsoft Research’s RiSE group in Redmond, attained her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where her work was recognized with prestigious fellowships from Meta Research in 2019-2020 and Microsoft Research in 2021-2022. Additionally, Dr. Moreira holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas).

Dr. Moreira’s research centers on developing AI-driven compiler strategies to improve the performance, safety, and efficiency of C/C++ and GPU computing. She investigates how machine learning can be applied to compilation to optimize execution speed and memory efficiency in heterogeneous architectures, driving progress toward more secure and efficient computing.
